- What is Asterpix SearchLight? Asterpix SearchLight is a program that enables publishers to increase user engagement and improve monetization of online content. Our technology automatically crawls your pages to find salient concepts and displays search phrases that would intrigue and interest your audience. The delivered search phrases help users find related pages on your site in addition to increasing search traffic and monetization.
- How do I get started? You can start by applying for a SearchLight account. After registering, we'll review your application and follow up with an email in a couple days. After your application has been approved you can log in to your account, configure your choices and grab your code snippet. Add the code to your pages and we'll start serving relevant search phrases in the cloud. You can track click-through rates in the console.
- What are the system requirements? End Users will need the following:

- Firefox 2 or higher (Windows XP/Vista/Mac OS X 10.4 w/ 32 bit Intel)
- Safari 2.0 or higher (Mac OS X 10.4 w/ 32 bit Intel)
Setup
- What sizes are available for SearchLight clouds? SearchLight units are available in a variety of sizes, including the following popular sizes :
- 600X200 Tall Letterbox
- 728x90 Leaderboard
- 468X200 Wide Rectangle
In addition to the standard sizes, you can also create SearchLight units in custom sizes to suit your site layout, select the 'Custom Unit' option in the Formats drop-down menu to create a custom sized unit.

- Can I configure the search page to have results from a specific site?Yes, you can configure which sites to search when a user clicks on a phrase. You can select from one of the following three options:
- Search the domain that the unit is displayed on
- Set a list of sites to search from
- Entire web
If for any particular search there are no results for the option you selected, the results page will default to searching the entire web.
- What are 'generally popular search phrases for my site'? This option displays the most frequently clicked search phrases across your entire site. These phrases will be displayed in the cloud when relevant search phrases for a specific page cannot be retrieved.
- What are active/inactive units?Active units are those that were either created or received impressions in the last 30 days.
Reports
- What are Searches and Search Rate? The 'Searches' column gives the total number of searches performed by users clicking on phrases displayed in your SearchLight unit. Search Rate is the total number of searches divided by the total number of SearchLight impressions.
Accounts
- What are supported domains? SearchLight units will only be active on domains you specify in your account settings. You can add/remove supported domains in the account section of the console. If a unit is placed on an unsupported domain, the space will be blank (no search phrases displayed) and impressions will not be counted in reports.
Revenue
- How do I make money?
You may earn revenue by including your Google Adsense information in the account console. Ads displayed above and below the search results will carry your Adsense information, accruing revenue directly in your Adsense account.
- I put in my Adsense info but don't see any ads?
- In your adsense account, if you have "Allow any site to show ads for my account", then you are good to go.
- Otherwise, be sure to add asterpix.com as an "allowed site" in your adsense account.

- How can I track revenues earned? You can set up a "url channel" for "asterpix.com" for your adsense account to track the revenues earned. See image below:
